Anne grew up in the midwest the daughter of two upper class liberal idealists. Her parents encouraged free thought and openly accepted her testing of boundaries. This led to her developing a smart mouth and a penchant for sarcasm, as well as an open dislike of authority and boundaries. Often left to her own devices from morning to late at night while her parents worked all-consuming jobs, Anne became self-reliant and fiercely independant.

In high school, Anne discovered punk rock and quickly adopted it as a lifestyle. A mainstay at shows and record stores, she became friends with Curt Hawk. Anne found herself something of a mentor to him and introduced him to the scene while acting as his intellectual anchor whenever his neurosis threatened to get the better of him.

Anne was there when Curt killed himself, an event which profoundly changed her, darkening her world-view and causing her to withdraw from friends and loved ones. Years later, Anne continues to come to grips with things, with a degree of success. Attempting to rekindle friendships and put grudges to rest, she strives for betterment and a return to who she thought she was.

Sharp tongued and sarcastic, Anne uses words to keep the world at bay. With a smart remark for every occasion, she can seem a bit hostile, but her loyalty and appreciation for her friends is unquestionable.
