I really like this one. I think it's sad and sweet. Maybe a little melodramatic, but that's pretty typical for the "relationship" strips. I think that Curt, behind his cynicism and smart remarks, really misses Jess and is trying to deal with that. For once, the dialogue barely changed at all from the rough. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted the characters to say, whereas sometimes I just get a general outline and do specifics when I put in the word balloons. A great big thanks to Erica for knowing Japanese. More experimenting with my art. I'm back to inking with a crow-quill and india ink. The characters are little more cartoony, particularly the first panel, though the closeup of Jess is about as realistic as I care to draw these days. Panel 4 was originally a drawing of Jess yelling, but I couldn't get it to look like I saw it in my head so I just zoomed in closer on panel 3 and changed the expression. I actually think it works better this way anyway.
