Yes, this would be a cheat, but it can't be worse than the Spider-man: Brand New Day reset Marvel Comics pulled. Alien Technology can't be worse than a deal with the devil. Honestly, things like this are cheats. They're always cheats. Deal with the devil, divine intervention, alien technology, they're all cheats, but I actually don't have a problem with them as a reader if the result is good enough. Brand New Day has been some of the best Spider-man stuff in a few years (though sadly, that isn't saying much... I'm looking at you, Straczynski) so I don't mind so much how they got there. Again, I haven't decided on a reboot, I just wanted the means to be there.
Obviously there was a lot of cut and paste art here from previous strips for the 'holowomb' background. I just didn't have the energy or the desire to draw Curt's suicide again. Also, that alien head in the second panel has gotten some mileage. I think it's been used 4 times in the last 2 strips...sort of lame, but the grays get fairly boring to draw. Thanks for reading!
