12-25-09 I thought for a long time about what I wanted to do for the holiday strip. I knew I wanted something to tell a story with no words. I got to thinking about Curt and Jess' relationship and how neither one can let the other go entirely, and I wanted to show that she can't just ignore the fact that he's basically on the street. I was going to have her invite him over, but I think this is more simple and eloquent, and I can leave it to the reader to figure she probably invited him over after this. That's supposed to be Dick in the doorway, by the way. The idea of the "title card" came about because I am a big fan of old movies, and I wanted to give it a sort of "It's a Wonderful Life" feel.
I am hugely relieved at being done with this because my car died, so I spent several days car shopping, and then immediately traveled out of town to celebrate with my family, and I was not sure how I was going to find time to finish this. So I took some shortcuts, but overall, I still think it is a nice little strip.
